I couldn’t post this yesterday, so I ended up posting this today.
This is an original feature (at least I hope it is) that is hosted by me (Nazish @ Nazish Reads). This is going to be monthly, but instead of posting this on the last day of the month (since I’m busy during the weekdays, I will post this on every last Saturday of the month, which would’ve been yesterday instead of today, but I wasn’t at home for almost the whole day.

<div align="center"><a href="http://nazish0151.wordpress.com/tag/most-fave-book-covers" title="Nazish Reads"><img src="http://nazish0151.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/mfbc-button-01.png" alt="Nazish Reads" style="border:none;" /></a></div>

<div align="center"><a href="http://nazish0151.wordpress.com" title="Nazish Reads"><img src="http://nazish0151.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/mfbc-button-02.png" alt="Nazish Reads" style="border:none;" /></a></div>
How it works:
1. Create a post on your own blog that links back to this post, just grab one of the button codes under the MFBC and put it in your post or just link me (I might make more/new buttons soon).
2. List your most favourite book cover or covers from the books that you read that month and or bought that month and you can also explain why it’s your favourite.
3. Put your Blog name and the URL in the comments section.
(I’m not going to explain why the ones below are my favourite book covers this month, maybe next month).
From the Books I Read This Month
Since this is my monthly feature, I’m going to use a book that I’m currently reading instead of one that I finished for this month. Yu can do whichever you want to.
-Anna Dressed in Black: Book 1 by Kendare Blake
From the Books I Bought This Month
-Everneath: Book 1 by Brodi Ashton
What’s your favourite cover/covers from books you read this month.

Follow Friday is a weekly blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.
It’s been a while since the last time I participated in this (probably just a week or two).
Which book genre do you avoid at all costs and why? This weeks Question:
My Answer: I avoid romances (books that are only about romance, although I do read paranormal romance), I don’t mind some romance, meaning that there’s not a lot of romance in the book, but there still is some, because who doesn’t want the protagonist to find a good boyfriend or a girlfriend? (like in animes: Inuyasha, Kodocha (this has more romance, but it’s really really funny), Case Closed, etc. I know a lot of people are probably gonna be thinking, wtf, she doen’t like romance novels? That’s weird, or something like that, I don’t care, call me weird, I’m already weird with my weird imagination and fascination with katanas and action (thanks to anime and manga). I like romance as the side story in books, not as the main focus.
I also try to avoid memoirs, religious fiction, and historical novels (although that depends, there are some that I like, I can’t think of them right now).
Please follow my blog and leave a comment on this post with a link to your blog and I will follow back, but if you’re following via email, then tell me in the comments your email and website, so that I know which email address belongs to who on my followers list.
Or you can follow me via Networked Blogs and I’ll follow back the same way.

Hey everybody!
I read and finished this book on Friday, but I didn’t have time to post a review until now.

Release date: it says January 24, 2012 on the author’s website, but it says January 31 on netgalley. Which one’s right?
Publisher: Harlequin (Imprint: KimaniTRU)
Format: Ebook (ARC by Netgalley)
Age Group: Young Adults
Pages: 248 (238 not counting the title/cover page, copyright info, etc)
Source for Synopsis: goodreads
Challenge: (personal) 2012 Reading Challenge
You can’t move forward until you deal with the past…
Starting over is nothing new to diplomat’s daughter Lindsey Yi. She’s grown up changing schools the way other girls change clothes. Still, moving to Lincoln, Connecticut, is different. Although she’s still reeling from the loss of her parents in an accident, Lindsey is finally in a place that feels like home. Because here, Lindsey’s ability to read other people’s thoughts doesn’t make her weird. It makes her one of the Mystyx.
When Dylan Murphy—hot, popular and a senior—starts to notice her, things get serious, fast. But even as she’s figuring out how she really feels, the Mystyx realize that they’re not the only supernaturals in town. There are other gifted teens who have different motives. And they are hoping to get close enough to the Mystyx to convert them—and the world—to Darkness…
There were some quotes I wanted to include, but I forgot to write them down, if I have lots of free time some day, I might look for some quotes and edit and include them here, since it’s an ebook, I couldn’t just flip through the pages (another reason why I hate ebooks, yet I still read them because the story seems interesting to me, which I’ve explained many times in some of my other reviews).
This is the fourth book in the Mystyx series by Artist Arthur (is that really her name? Because it sounds like a pen name). I’m not sure if this is the last book, because after reading the end, I was disappointed at when the final fight happened, it seemed too easy to win, I was expecting something more to happened, for ex: like in all of the Harry Potter books, there is a big final fight; same all of the Vampire Academy books (although I havent read book 6 yet, don’t ask). At first, I thought that this was a standalone, until i read it, that is.
I’m going to try something different in reviews from now on (as I explained in my last review), so that it’ll help you decide if you want to read this book easier. I got this idea from TheBookVlogger on youtube. I’m not using all of the categories she used, just some. Give me ideas if there are some that you want to see.
Sex: No (just some making out scenes)
Gore: No (although there were some gross parts, but I read about a lot worse and I’ve seen a lot worse on tv shows and movies)
Magic: Yes
Romance: (This one’s kind of hard to rate/say) there is romance, but it didn’t seem very real to me, she barely knows the guy and she falls in love with him, there’s one line she said to Sasha, “I know that he’s cute and he likes me. That’s enough for now.” That idiot! That is a stupid answer, that isn’t nearly enough to know if a guy is dangerous or not, especially in the kind of world they live in, female protagonists like that annoy me so much. Anyways, it didn’t feel realistic to me, so I don’t know what to rate it.
Action: 3 stars (there is supposed to be a lot of action, but there’s not as much as I hoped)
Pacing: 3 stars (not much happened in the first certain amount of ages, it was kind of slow for me)
Plot: 3 stars (the book had the potential to be amazing, but it didn’t feel that way to me, I wasn’t satisfied when i finished this book)
The cover does not look like a Korean girl, considering how often she referred to her heritage in the book, It sounds like she looked a lot more Asian than this, or maybe it’s just me. Although, I do like that they showed the M mark on the cover on her leg, like they did with the other Mystyx.
A few of the things that I liked about this book was the plot/idea. I didn’t enjoy this book, there wasn’t as much action as you would expect from a book like this, which, as I said, is disappointing. Even though it’s the fourth book in the series, it’s not too confusing.
The story starts with Lindsey talking about her parents death and that she has to live in a big creepy house with a creepy old strict lady.
I didn’t like Lindsey Yi, she’s: boring, stupid (she trusts a guy and is madly in love with him just because he’s cute and likes her, that’s saying that a girl should date any guy that is good looking and likes her), etc. Yup, you guessed it, she’s not the type of female protagonist I like to read about. I thought that she and the story woud be more interesting from what I read on goodreads (the synopsis), but it ended up being the opposite. I wanted to strangle her, that’s how irritating she was (almost as bad as Bella from Twilight, but not as much, thank god).
I didn’t like Dylan either. If a guy like him suddenly came out of no where and said that he liked me, I would immediately think something suspicious was going on, especially in the world they live in. I mean, who cares if he’s popular and good looking, they never told us anything about his personality and he seemed a little controlling.
I found Lindsey and Dylan’s love boring, they’re too… I don’t know how to explain (it’s not my type of relationship, as I mentioned in my other reviews, the kind I like is the love and hate relationship, for ex: like in Kodocha, The Chicagoland Vampires, The Otherworld series: Book 1 Bitten, etc).
I found the evil creatures like something from old cartoons, as in silly, the big clawed creatures stomping, not something I’m used to reading. Don’t get me wrong, I love classical cartoons, but not in a book for young adults.
Their powers reminded me a little bit of the tv show Charmed. Krystal can see ghosts like all of the witches in Charmed can, Sasha can teleport like Paige, and astral project like Prue, Jake has the power of telekineses like Prue does, and Lindsey is an empath like Phoebe. That’s one of the reasons why I wanted to read this book so much. But Charmed is a lot better and more interesting.
I know this review sounds very negative, but if you want an honest review, then here it is, I tried to make this not sound mean, but it might get misinterpreted that way, no offense to anyone who likes this book.
Overall, I didn’t enjoy this book, I really wanted to, but I just didn’t.
Krystal and Jake’s stories sound like they’re the best stories out of the four (from what I read of the synopsis), but I still don’t plan on reading the first three anytime soon. If there are more books in this series next, then I’m probably going to pass on them.
If you want to read more reviews about this book, go to Goodreads and read the reviews in the comment section or go to other websites.
It was hard to rate this book, I ended up rating this book: 2.5 stars, but since I didn’t make any half stars pictures, I’m going give this book 3 stars.

If you read this book, then tell me what you thought about it and or the series. Tell me in the comments section.

Hey everybody!
Sorry for not posting for a few days, especially since I post a new post almost every day. I’ve been kind of slow on reviews this month, I think part of it is because I just started second semester of college and I’ve been busy with that.
I read and finished this book in early January, but I never had much time for a review, plus I wasn’t in the mood for writing reviews (certain stuff were happening, like a really bad tooth ache, it was really bad before, but now it’s a lot better).

Release date: January 25, 2012
Publisher: Dark Horse Comics
Format: Ebook (by Netgalley)
Age Group: children (in my opinion, I think it’s ok for all ages)
Pages: 82 (76 not counting the title/cover page, back of the book, etc)
Source for Synopsis: from back of the book
Challenge: (personal) 2012 Reading Challenge
The war is over… but the adventure has just begun!
Picking up exactly where Avatar: The Last Airbender left of. The Promise takes Aang to a Fire Nation colony in the heart of the Earth Nation, where tensions between neighbors threaten to shatter the world’s newfound peace-putting the Avatar on a collision couse with one of his closest friends, Fire lord Zuko!
Couldn’t find anything to include here.
This is going to be a shorter review than my previous ones because this is a really short graphic novel.
This is the first book to the sequel to the Avatar: The Last Airbender series, it seems like a good start to the series.
I’m going to try something different in reviews from now on, so that it’ll help you decide if you want to read this book easier. I got this idea from TheBookVlogger on youtube. I’m not using all of the categories she used, just some. Give me ideas if there are some that you want to see.
Sex: No
Gore: No
Magic: Yes (they have elemental powers, which I consider to be magic)
Romance: (This one’s kind of hard to rate/say) not much, just some lovey dovey moments, nothing too crazy. This story is an adventure/action story, not really a romance, the romance is like a small side story in this (well, I din’t think too much of it).
Action: 4 stars (there is almost always action)
Pacing: 4 stars (pretty good, although, maybe it’s just me, but at a few points it was a little slow for me)
Plot: 4 stars (petty good, but it could have been better)
Drawings/Art: 3.5 stars (it’s ok, but not as good as Arina Tanemura)
I’m a huge fan of the original animated series, I’ve watched some of the episodes more than once, and I was sad when it ended, because it looked like there could be more. The characters and humour is still the same as they were in the animated series.
A few of the things that I loved about this book was the plot. To be honest, I didn’t even know that there was going to be a sequel to The Last Airbender until last year (I never read the comics of The Last Airbender series, although I’ve seen the show a few years ago), then when I saw this was available on netgalley, I got really excited. I enjoyed this, but not as much as I thought I would. It was a little lower than I expected, or maybe that’s because I’m used to reading mangas that are from 180 – about 200 pages, this one is too short.
The story starts where the prequel left off, which was after the protagonists won the war. This book is mostly the aftermath and the pressures of being the fire lord.
This book also has some awesome fight scenes in it. The innocence we expect of Aang, but also seriousness too. Furious Katara, I always love watching her fight, she’s the kind of girls I like to read about: strong, good at fighting, doesn’t rely on others to protect her, etc. Scenes with some minor characters that are from season 2.
There were a few new characters introduced and some developments on the characters we already know from the prequel series.
I found Katara and Aang’s love relationship boring, they’re too lovey dovey (I know it’s a story for children, but it’s not my type of relationship, as I mentioned in my other reviews, the kind I like is the love and hate relationship, for ex: like in Kodocha, The Chicagoland Vampires, The Otherworld series: Book 1 Bitten, etc).
This volume has a cliff-hanger ending, I really want to know what happens next, although, I’m only going to have to wait a few months (part 2 is releasing in May, which isn’t too long of a wait).
Overall, this was too short for me and not as much happened as I thought would. I know that others on goodreads loved this, but… it’s hard to explain, I have complicated feelings and thoughts about this book.
If you want to read more reviews about this book, go to Goodreads and read the reviews in the comment section or go to other websites.
It was hard to rate this book, I ended up rating this book: 3.5 stars, but since I didn’t make any half stars pictures, I’m going give this book 4 stars.

WWW WEDNESDAYS is a weekly bookish meme hosted by: Should Be Reading
To play along just answer the following three questions…
• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
I’m still reading Mystyx: Book 4 Mesmerize by Artist Arthur (ARC). I’m also still reading Paper Towns by John Green, and Anna Dressed in Blood: Book 1 by Kendare Blake.
Again, I’m not going to include Need Book 1 in this post either, since even though I didn’t finish reading this yet, I’m taking a break from this book for now, mostly because of the annoying main character.
What did you recently finish reading?
Nothing recently
What do you think you’ll read next?
(This is the same as a few weeks ago, nothing new here, it probably won’t change for a while).
Book 6 of the Women of the Otherworld series, “Broken”. “Catching Fire” by Suzanne Collins (I never got around to finishing this series, and I’m hoping to finish it before the movie releases in March). I’m also hoping to read the next book in the Iron Fey and The Mortal Instruments series. I’m also hoping to start reading some of the books I bought the past few months: “The Name of a Star” by Maureen Johnson, “Codename Sailor V Volumes 1 and 2″ by Naoko Takeuchi, and the rest of the FMA series by Hiromu Arakawa.
Waiting On Wednesday
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly bookish meme hosted by: Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
(I’ll add this part later)

Musing Mondays is a weekly event where MizB at Should Be Reading will ask a book/reading-related question, and you answer with your own thoughts on the topic.
This week’s musing asks:
What devices –if any– do you read books on? Do you find it enjoyable, or still somewhat bothersome? Or: If you only read the print books, why haven’t you chosen to read on any devices?
I have a Kobo app on my cell phone and an Aldiko app as well. I don’t use them much, I never buy ebooks, I only downloaded those so that I can read galleys on them and sometimes publisher websites (like Harlequin) have some ebooks available for free for a limited time (that’s how I got one of the Iron Fey novellas, I forget which one). Sometimes I read those galleys on the computer.
Although, I try to avoid reading on electronic devices, because they’re uncomfortable and reading on the computer gives me a headache. To be honest, I don’t like reading ebooks, I prefer print books over ebooks any day. If I need to flip to a random page for a certain quote, it’s easier to do that with print books. The only positive about ebooks is that they’re easier to carry and I’ll have something to read if I’m waiting somewhere and I forgot to bring a book with me (for ex: on the bus).
